In case you didn't know...

My wife really, really, REALLY, loves bananas.

She won't buy them often in the U.S. because they have to be shipped in from elsewhere.  That isn't a problem here.

(I thought some of you might appreciate a translation of the last blog post)

  1. Do they have plantains and small apple or baby bananas? Do they fry the plantains? The roti sounds delicious too! I love reading the blog from both of you. It sounds like you are having a great time and it is nice to read what you are doing and feel a little bit like we are there with you. Love you both!!!

  2. No plantains, but small bananas and medium bananas and big bananas and sweet bananas and green bananas and bunches and bunches of bananas for really cheap! I need to get to south/central America to try even more kinds of bananas! I just found out about red bananas! Very exciting! I need to try those next! :) Miss you and love you!

  3. I haven't tried red bananas either - they look so exotic! Yes Central America has lots of bananas. Someday I would like to go to see Mayan pyramids in Guatemala. Mi suegra (my ex- mother in law) made a delicios atole (hot drink) out of bananas. You would love it! She also made delicious tamales out of banana leaves. How I miss her!!! I even hesitate to call her my ex- mother in law.
